Abstract 9: roof tiles

roof 1

Roofs in Great Chesterford, Essex, provide a multiplicity of patterns.

I can’t resist adding tiles seen at eye level from Saffron Walden.

  1. I once dated a guy whose father was a bricklayer, and suddenly my eyes were opened to different brick patterns on facades. So gorgeous. Thanks for reminding me of the beauty of surfaces.

    1. You’re welcome! I happened to catch a bright enough day when there were enough shadows to bring out the textures. Here in Wales I’ve got used to uniformly grey slates on roofs, but these old tiles are much more interesting, almost Mediterranean!.
