Pillar 1

congresbury cross

15th-century market cross, Congresbury, North Somerset

The steps are late medieval, but the cross shaft and head must be more recent restorations, possibly 18th-century.
The pub building behind is an 18th-century inn, originally the Bristol Arms but now called the Ship & Castle or, more simply, the Ship.
