Sculpture 31: kneeling

Angels, St Edmunds church, Crickhowell, Powys

These Victorian kneeling angels, either side of the main altar in St Edmunds church, may both represent Gabriel at the Annunciation

Behind the altar, inserted into the wall, is a more crudely sculpted angel, probably a putto-like cherub, which I’d guess dates from the 17th century
