Horizontals on Newgale beach, Pembrokeshire, from the shingle bank

    1. The county has maintained a shingle/stoney bank between the sand and road for at least the decade I’ve known it, Sue, a mini-Chesil as it were. After the 2013 storms they announced it was proving too costly to protect the hinterland and that they would in time allow nature to take its course. As Haverfordwest and St Davids are linked by the road I have no idea what long term plans are for that! The storms also exposed remnants of the prehistoric forest but of course they’re all covered up by shifting sands now.
