Reflections 1: V&A

V&A garden
V&A garden

The pool at the centre of the Victoria & Albert Museum reflects the façade behind it.
A magnet for children to dip their toes in,
but a grey day in February
seemed to tempt no one.
The circular pond echoed
Romanesque arches of windows and doors,
though classical friezes with semi-naked figures
belied the low temperatures.
Still, a good spot to consume a mini-picnic,
to people-watch
and reflect.

    1. Me too! My favourite discovery is the Hall of Casts (we giggled at David’s attachable fig leaf, designed so Queen Victoria wouldn’t be embarrassed), but pretty much any section throws up delights.

And glad you like the photo!
