    1. The Pembrokeshire gate design is traditional (variations occur in Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire) and is deliberately used by the National Park. The Abergavenny gate is mass-produced; I’ve noted others in the Gwent area. The bird-themed one in Crickhowell is a one-off, made by the woman (now sadly passed on) who used to live there. Every one tells a different story! 🙂

        1. She was indeed: Catharine Marr-Johnson, who died in 2014, the year we moved to Crickhowell so we never met her. I’ve posted a handful of her sculptures on Instagram under the hashtag #CatharineMarrJohnson
